Mother's Day Sunday 30th March
Only a week to go so, this time next week it will all be over but there's a long way to go yet. Some flowers are already ordered due in for conditioning later in the week and others still to be confirmed, if only I had a crystal ball. Spring and pink are always popular but we have a whole host of beauties on offer. I will try to remember to capture the moments as they arise but as is so often the case at peak times it's just too busy. So bring a smail to your mum's face with pretty blooms.
Floral Colour - Florists frustration
I am sure this happens in many a trade or profession and hence why the 'pantone'colour chart was developed. For this weekends 'peaches and cream'wedding I ordered 'salmon'ranunculus as I wanted a nice pastel peach, it said salmon on the label but they were definately orange! However all was not lost as the David Austin 'Juliet' rose came up trumps so along with a few more blooms, I think the desired affect was achieved.
Blue and cream are tricky one's too as blue in floristry speak is so often purple and cream turns up yellow! And that is where experience comes in.

Weddings and wedding fairs
We were then at Balackstock Farm on the Sunday for a wedding open day - again sunny and a steady flow of potential brides.
And that was June - July will have to wait until tomorrow!

Party season
Last weekend saw us preparing for more parties, a garden party in a marquee with cream jugs and a 25th Wedding celebration. The brief for that was 'citrus' colours and I think we got it right!
I also wanted to share these lovely peonies, there really are some stunners around this year.
We have more weddings this weekend and a wedding fair at Blackstock Farm on Sunday so I must be armed with my camera - to be continued!

Summer jugs
A week on and here I am. Following on from an earlier tweet of jugs, jugs and more jugs as this weekends wedding and Summer Ball both chose jugs for their table flowers. The wedding had a beach theme with blues and creams and pebbles for place names and the Ball - Summer - wishful thinking!

Techincal frustration!
Success! I have been struggling to find out why the browse button no longer popped up to enable me to insert images from my computer, I've just found it so here are a couple of recent images of spring flowers.
