And here is a snap shot of the finished designs. The Fair was well attended with vintage still proving popular but purple again coming through very strongly as a popular choice. Fish bowls remain a favourite, we had pussy willow and parrot tulips but of course calla lilies work well too. It's a shame that so few brides decide to have a spring wedding as there are so many beautiful flowers to chose from, there were a couple of enquires for next spring so fingers crossed.
Hopefully there will be more pics once I've downloaded them!

Here's a sneak peek at the flowers that came in this morning for the wedding fair. Lots of pretty pastels and antique tones, beautiful scented garden roses, guelder rose, lilac, veronica, scabious... the list goes on! We shall share our designs over the weekend.

Time for tea
In keeping with the current vintage trend, the tea party continues to be popular with all ages. Last week one of our regular customers had a 'big' birthday and had a tea party for local friends one of whom decided to take along a themed present , not a storm in a teacup but flowers!

Success!
Well it seemed to work, they went like 'hot cakes' or should I say 'hot haggis' And not necessarily just for Burns night but as a general 'gesture' gift. As soon as one went it was replaced and so it went on. The moral being when you get something right, stick with it. And now on to the next thing.

Burns' Night
A very good 'Scottish' customer of ours throws a party every year to celebrate Burns Night which is on Tuesday this year but I am sure many will be celebrating this weekend. We have found it very worthwhile to make up some 'Burns' bunches', simple little posies for people to take to their host. Enjoy that Haggis!

Brighten your day
I am sure we are not the only ones fed up with this dreary weather but at least we are fortunate to work amongst beautiful flowers with up lifting colours and scent. So bring some cheer into your life and treat yourself or a friend to some flowers today!
We have been planning for Valentine's Day and for many years have tried to convince our customers there is more to Valentine's than the traditional red roses. We have often had comments from ladies that they would rather have a pretty spring bunch but of course do not want to sound ungrateful. We would be very interested to hear from anyone out there as to your preferred Valentine's bunch. Here are a few alternative ideas.

Spring in the shop!
Be it snowy white cyclamen, ranunculus, genista and paper whites or something more vibrant, spring flowers will brighten any dull day and many will be fragrant too.
